Founded by artist/designer Amy Wells (a.k.a. lucas) in 2003, lucasbags is a multifaceted company located in Tampa, Florida. lucasbags offers a variety of products, from Amy's special hand-painted oil-on-canvas Pet Portraits to her fun Fiber Arts (handmade bags and stuffed animals) featuring the hippo sect (conservation conscious allies). The custom Pet Portraits are unique and the artistry speaks for itself! lucasbags' philosophy of useful design in offbeat color combinations and textures, provides one-of-a-kind fiber arts for the individual. All lucasbags fiber arts are distinctively designed and sewn by hand to retain uniqueness and personality. The use of vintage, industrial, and new fabrics lends itself to Amy's unique vision and is the vehicle through which we provide sturdy, stylish bags.

Amy Wells is a local Tampa artist. Amy Wells currently works in two mediums, oil-on-canvas and textiles. Her oil-on-canvas paintings concentrate on animals as the figure. Amy's unique stylized interpretation of each animal's beauty and personality is established by working with the animal's family to truly glorify their beloved friend.

Amy's great love for animals has lead her on this path and she truely enjoys expressing her artistic ability through each unique portrait. Amy's started lucasbags with her fiber art & textile work, then with much pressure from friends who viewed her private studio, she expanded the company to feature her first love, painting.

Her fiber arts include funni bunnies, nippy kitties (catnip cat toys) and large hippopotamus stuffed animals, the hippo sect, which help with hippo education and conservation as well as her one-of-a-kind bags and purses, known as lucasbags.
